“Comics and Contemporary Art, the new stage of equality”
Scenography for the biennale of contemporary art in Le Havre, 2010

This event explores the current relations between comic strip and contemporary art. The artists Wim Delvoye, Abdelkader Benchamma, Winschluss, Ruppert&Mulot(…) expose their work which are of all kind: multimedia, installation, drawing, painting, sculpture… Scenography takes over two atypical scenes: the maritime museum and Villa Salacrou. The maritime museum is a shed located on Le Havre docks. We built a ephemeral museum of 650m2 within the 3000m2 or so of the shed. We do assume the aesthetic of this place. The surrounding wall is punctuated with breaches, allowing the visitor to catch a glimpse at the storage containers, monumental propellers or beacons stored outside.
